What To Expect
How do Auditions work?
Students will audition after school (bus transportation provided). Students will be expected to sing, dance, and read from a script individually and in groups. Students should not prepare any materials for auditions. Everything will be provided for the student upon arrival.
Who is allowed to audition?
Any 6th-8th grade student is allowed to audition. However, only 30 cast members will be accepted. Student levels and past behavior incidents given throughout the year will be taken into consideration when casting the roles for the TMS Musical.
What is the rehearsal schedule like?
After auditions, students will be expected to attend every rehearsal of which they are involved. Rehearsal will happen on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons. Mondays are reserved as catch up days, meaning that there may or may not be rehearsal that day. Friday rehearsals are required. Rehearsals typically go from 3pm-5pm/6pm. As the music approaches closer to show time, more rehearsals will take place.
What is Tech Week?
Tech week is the week of rehearsal prior to the performance. These rehearsal are required, with no exceptions. These rehearsals are typically longer. This is the time where we will run the show with costume, make up, lights and sound!
Is it Worth it?
Absolutely! While performing in a musical is very time consuming, students will grow close with other students participating creating unique friendships. You will also gain confidence through performing on stage! Being in a musical is a lot of work, but also very rewarding and enjoyable!
